29th July - As a celebration of a successful year, we met at the Carvery in Whitestake on  29th July and enjoyed a carvery meal together.  Our next regular meeting will be in September.

Monday 20th September - Sue and Michael Swarbrick represented the group at the British Lung Foundation - North West Regional Networking Day.

30th September - Today we had an informative talk on nebulisers given to us by Lesley McCallion, BLF COPD Specialist Nurse, attached to the Central Lancashire PCT at the Minerva Health Centre in Preston.
About eleven members, including two new ones, benefited from the comprehensive information and demonstrations provided by Lesley.
Peter and Rene won the raffle prizes.

Thursday 14th October - Today we had our second Exercise Class

Thursday 28th October - Ernie Walton of The British Red Cross came to talk to us

Thursday 11th November - today's exercise class was cancelled because Cath, our exercise leader was taken ill with a sore throat.
Take care of your lungs when decorating by choosing paints that do not contain Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Studies have shown that long-term exposure to these nasty ingredients can increase the risk of serious lung diseases.

November 15th - Vic and Anne attended the Breathe Easy ' Meet The Experts' event at University Hospital Aintree.

Today, Wednesday 17th November is World COPD Day and this year’s theme is to encourage those at risk or with early symptoms to get tested. Below are a few of the BLF's World COPD Day activities thisyear.

Thursday 9th December - We met again at our new venue for our third exercise class led by Kath Hopkinson.  We all enjoyed the work out, as before, which was lightened by Kath's special humour.  No photos today, sorry.  I appeal to you all to turn up, the exercises are light and you only do what you can do, if you don't feel you can exercise it's worth coming to laugh with us and Kath.
There will not be a normal meeting at the end of this month because it's too close to Christmas but the next Exercise meeting is on Thursday 13th January starting at 1.30 pm.
If you would like to take part in the new Health Walks in Cuerden Valley Park you are all welcome - look at this page for details.
