The next Group Meeting is on Thursday 28th January - Ed Alison will give us a talk on Gardening

There will be no December Group Meeting but on Thursday 17th December we will have our Christmas Lunch at Farington Lodge.

The next Exercise Class is on December 10th.  and will be a Pampering afternoon with Cath Hopkinson.

Thursday 26th November - Peter Taylor of Galloways Society for the Blind gave us and interesting and educational talk on the work of Galloways and explained many misconceptions we have of people who have been registered blind.  He really entertained us with his humorous explanations and comments.

Peter had four sets of special glasses designed to simulate various conditions of blindness - Macular Degeneration, Diabetes, tunnel vision - not sure what he called this - and Cataracts.  Shirley is trying on a pair.

Peter held us all rapt for an hour.

Thursday 24th September - sadly Ann-Marie Brewer didn't turn up and we found it impossible to contact her?

Saturday 12th September - Leyland Mela.  On Friday afternoon Mavis, Michael & Sue set up our stall in Worden Academy.

Thursday 10th September - Nine people for the Exercise Class which took place on a lovely sunny afternoon with Cath

Thursday 27th August- We enjoyed an interesting talk by Natasha Mellor of Age UK. Natasha is Age UK's Personal Advisor for Chorley Borough specialising in teaching old people how to get the best of the help and facilities avaiable.

Thursday 13th August - an even smaller group enjoyed another Exercise Balls session with Cath

Thursday 23th May - Richard Lea of South Ribble Rotary Club gave us a talk on the Rotary Organisation We were surprised that it was founded in The USA in the nineteenth century and at the work the South Ribble Branch do.

Thursday 9th May - Exercise Class - a few off us were unable to attend but the rest of us enjoyed Cath's banter.

Thursday 23rd April - Eddie Reynolds entertained us with his stories of the Leyland Male Voice Choir and his life in gardening which crystallized in to the love of Fuchsias

Saturday 18th April - Anne, Michael and Sue set up our stall and looked after if all day except when Neil and Jean put a couple of hours in to give us all a rest.  It was a good day.  Sue and Michael had their health assessed.  Sue was fine but Michael needs to pull his socks up as he has a 33.8% chance of having a heart attack in the next ten years if he doesn't loose weight.

Thursday 9th April - Exercise Class - Cath was on holiday so Michael turned up to lead the class in exercises but we were all tired and hot so we just enjoyed each other's company.  Peggy entertained us wit hsevral quizes which we didn't do very well at.

Thursday 26th March – Our own Neil Fow gave a very interesting talk on Blind bowling

Thursday 12th March - we enjoyed an ecercise class with Cath Hopkinson.  Four potential new members attended!

Unfortunately our February Meetings had to be cancelled because our meeting room was being refurbished

Thursday 29th January - We had a COPD Focus Group Meeting with representatives of Chorley and South Ribble and Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group to discuss our needs from the NHS.  The meeting went very well.  Summary of discussion.

Thursday 22nd January - today we were entertained by Stewart Whillis who gave an interwsting and informative talk on Clocks.  His talk included several clocks which he had brought along and then slides of interesting clocks that he owned

You can see the clocks he brought on the table next to the projector, he descibed and gave us the provenance of each one, similarly with the slides he showed us.

Thursday 8th January - our first Exercise Class of the year followed by a talk from the Local NHS representatives of the Clinical Commissioning Group, Tracy Wells, Efffectiveness and Innovation Manager and Faiqah Baig, Effectiveness Officer. We agreed to have a COPD Focus Group Meeting on Thursday 29th January
