Health Walk from the Sports Centre

Tuesday 12th July

We entered the Park and went to the left, down and then climbing up to Cam Lane.  We walked along Cam Lane, past the Ponderosa and into the field walking down to the lake.

sheeps
The Park's Jacob sheep relaxing in the shade - start from the base of the tree and move left and you'll just make them out.

Along the edge of the lake where Gaz spotted a large fish basking in the sunshine.  Gaz took us up into Dog Kennel Wood and through Gravel Hole Wood (I've learnt a new name - and also found out the Cock Robin wood is actually Cock Cabin Wood!).  Down to the cycle track and over the new bridge, up into the eastern edge of the Pinetum and

The cows are in the field in front of the Hall - is it going to rain?  The horses are on the right of the track.

along the track back down to the Stone Bridge.

Looking back up the track down to the Stone Bridge as we walked along the dam.  Gaz can't decide whether to have a go fishing in the Lake.

ducks canadas grebes
The ducks hoping for food and the Canada Geese not sure what to make of us - did we see a young Great Crested Grebe?  No it was a young coot.  Back up the hill and round to the Sports Centre.

sets
It was too hot and oppressive in the squash court, we seem to have lost our little room, so we decamped to the bench outside the centre and watched the world go by relaxing in the sunshine.

A lovely morning and we had absorbed the ambience during the walk; we all seemed too tired to talk much this morning.
