Thursday 6th September -  A lovely sunny morning with a slight nip in the air - perfect for walking.

Peter's sister-in-law was visiting him so she joined us on the walk. It was Betty's first time too and Jacqueline was making an attempt to start walking again after illness.

Here we are setting off from the Barn walking towards the Pinetum.  Michael was leading the main group and Jacqueline and Sue would leave us at the bottom of the hill after the New Bridge.  We turned right, Sue and Jacqueline rested on the bench and then walked towards the Picnic Area, where they would rest again and wait for us.

The light through the trees was magical throughout our walk.

Watching the wood cutters as they started work.  The sheep nearby were quite unconcerned

Sue and Jacqueline enjoying the sun in the Picnic Area waiting for us to catch up.  Jacqueline elected to go up the hill and back to the Barn with Sue.  They volunteered to get the tea ready.  It was such a nice morning that the rest of us wanted to carry on through Cock Cabin Wood.

Leaving Cock Cabin Wood we came across this Alder, which has decided that it is already autumn!

All nine of us had enjoyed the morning's outing and are looking forward to the next walk.  Jacqueline was delighted with her performance and she told Sue that her confidence was returning at last.  Sue, Peter's sister-in-law, was really impressed by the Park and will be following us on the internet, looking forward to her next visit to Leyland.
