Health Walk

Tuesday 5th February  

Walking from the Sports Centre today, we were nine plus Gareth, the forecast of snow, sleet, rain and high winds no doubt deterred the others but we were pleasantly surprised.  The wind was cold but in the Park we were sheltered to some extent, there was no snow, sleet or rain and we had some sunny intervals - a lovely morning, considering.

Well into our walk we rested for the first time, admiring the view.

On the bridge over the River Lostock and setting off again along the path through the trees alongside the river, which turned out to be rather muddy

This little bird (Kestrel?), was quite unconcerned as we stopped to gaze at it and take photographs.  Back the the Sports Centre, climbing (struggling) up Sheephill Lane, for tea and biscuits.  More mutterings about the poor facilities.
