Many thanks Steve Speakman, who did the OOD duty, also for taking the photos and video.

Hardly any wind and no sea breeze because it was overcast - where was the sun?  It looked hazy/misty out to sea?

Again five dinghies turned out to race but that was later.

The Other Woman being manoeuvred down from the bund - struggling with the steering - Dave thinking if only they'd listen to me (he's the expert manoeuvrer) - at the top of the slipway at last.

Over to the winch - mind the wall - Alex controlling the winch - waiting for the tide to rise enough to float off.

The first race is underway.  The course for the first race was Cs - Gs - Ap - 18s - Ss - Two laps and three laps for the Laser and Iso.  However the wind, WSW was so fickle Ivan only managed two laps and the rest of us one lap except Duncan who was swept up stream after rounding G.

Meanwhile a few of the boats returning from Piel - they had had a glorious sail over yesterday, today was OK but . . .

We're into the second race now.  Because the wind was so light and we'd no idea how it was going to turn out we set a short course for the second race As - 18s - Ss.  Again because of the unknown quantity of the wind, we arranged with Steve that he would let us sail for around forty minutes before he finish us.  The wind freshened slightly and allowed us sail and in the end Ivan did six laps and the rest of us five, four and two.  We started without Duncan who was way upstream but we agreed to time him from the the moment he crossed the line, to have waited from him to make the start would have restricted the racing time for the other four and probably become cold.

The end of the race.  Ivan completing his sixth lap, Chris his fourth and Michael his fifth.  Dave is in the background on his sixth lap.  Duncan finishing his second lap.

253s
Mytilus - off fishing?

Again a very enjoyable day's sailing.
