VHF OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

It is important that the OOD is in contact with the Patrol Boat.  There is a mobile handset for the OOD to use.  It is kept in the safe near the entrance to the galley.

The battery should be charged up to at least 8.2, displayed as you switch the set on

Operate on LOW transmission setting (Use your initiative if you get no response when calling, i.e. go to HIGH)

Operate on Channel 77 with Channel 16 on Dual Watch.

The OOD station call sign is “Merlin”, the Patrol Boat station call sign is “PB

Put handset on charge in the safe after use

Report any difficulties to a Committee Member
