Health Walk - Thursday 30th April

Dry but threatening to rain but it didn't and we had sunshine at times.  It was still cold though.  Fourteen today.  Carmel, Carole, Christine, David H, Dorothy, Helen, Irene S, Jacqueline, Jillian, Linda E, Mary, Michael, Sandy and Sue.  One new walker today, Irene S.

Michael led everyone into the Pinetum, over the Wooden Bridge and into Gravel Hole Wood.  As we left Dog Kennel Wood Sue and Jacqueline walked down the hill, over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill - green route.

We walked round the Lake then down the steps to the Picnic area, round and over the Stone Bridge.

In Photo 3 you can just make out the two red specs of Jacqueline and Sue about to disappear out of sight.  Carmel and Jillian leading us up Bikers Hill and into Walkers Wood.

The Nature Reserve.  The track used to lead to Stag Lodge but the M65 blocked it.

We walked into Cock Cabin Wood and round Cock Cabin Pond.

The Cuckoo Flower or Lady's Smock or the May Flower is blooming throughout the Park now.

Back to the Barn for our tea/coffee and biscuits

David, one of the Park's many unsung heroes cutting back the advancing Ivy and Rhododendrons to open up the parking place that had been usurped by the Triffids.
