Health Walk - Tuesday 17th November 2015

Photos by Michael - Please click on photos to see a larger one

Today it was overcast with the promise of lots of rain towards dinner time.  The wind was expected to increase too - hurricane Barney

Again we had 11 walkers - Brian, Carole, Elizabeth H, Irene S, Judy, Lawrence, Michael, Pat, Paul, Peter and Sue.  Irene and Judy are back from holiday.  Carmel, Carol, Elizabeth M and Sandy were off to Liverpool with the W.I.

Michael was leading and we set off towards the Stone Bridge.

The roof trusses are starting to be fitted.  I'm sorry this photo isn't sharp, it was dull and I'd left my Nikon at home because of the dark and promised rain.

As we approached the Kissing Gate Brian, Peter and Sue left us to find a walk on the level, Brian and Sue are full of a cold.  Michael had outlined his plans which involved Cam Lane.  We felt it wise to stick to surfaced paths because of the heavy rain overnight and the previous week or so.

We carried on down to the Stone Bridge and up the far steps to the Lake.  We walked round the Lake and up into the field.  We followed the path to Hawks Clough and walked up to the Ponderosa (Seemingly an imitation Spanish Hacienda).  Carrying on along Cam Lane we crossed the main road and walked down Sheephill.

We entered the Park alongside the Town Brow Car Park and walked along the Cycle Track to the Wooden Bridge.  We climbed up into the Pinetum where Lawrence decided that he'd like to go and see if there were any Long Tailed Tits on the feeders.  The rest of us plodded on back to the Barn.

Brian Peter and Sue had walked past the front of the Hall and down the drive to Shady Lane where they turned left and walked through the little group of houses, through the wood and back to the Barn.  Sue left them here while Brian and and Peter walked on to the Viewing Area of the Pinetum before returning to the Barn
