Health Walk - Tuesday 19th January 2016

Photos by Michael - Please click on photos to see a larger one

Today we were down to seventeen walkers after last week's high of twenty-one.

Bernadette, Carmel, Carol, Elizabeth M, Frankie, Graham, Irene T, James, Lawrence, Linda E, Maureen, Michael, Pat, Paul, Peter, Sue and Wendy.

It was dull and cool but we had no wind and it brightened up as we walked but the sun didn't show.

Michael led off down towards the Stone Bridge.  We turned left up Bikers Hill and entered Cock Cabin Wood at the Pond and walked clockwise round the wood emerging back on to the Cycle Track but we soon entered Walkers Wood

We carried on to the the Stone Bridge walked along the bottom of the Dam, up round the Lake and into the field.

Here we are walking down the hill to enter Dog Kennel Wood, my only photo today.  You can see thirteen plus me so where are the other three?

Peter led the short walk with Maureen and Sue.  They walked up to the viewing area in the Pinetum and watched the birds.  There were Great Tits, two Nuthatches and four Robins amongst others.  They walked back to the Car Park and down to the Gregson's seat.  From there they retraced their steps to the iron kissing gate and then walked round the north side of the Hall and down the Drive to Cuerden Close.  Emerging on to Shady Lane they walked along and up Berkeley Drive back to the Barn - green route.

We walked through Dog Kennel Wood into Gravel Hole Wood and back over the Wooden Bridge.

We carried on up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Barn where we all squeezed into the corner for our refreshments.

Thanks to those of you who responded to Carmel's appeal for biscuits and left over sweets
