Health Walk - Tuesday 10th May 2016

Another fine morning.  Fifteen walkers - Brian, Carole, Christine, Colin C, Elizabeth H, Frankie, Ilene, Irene S, James, Linda E, Margaret, Michael, Sandy, Suzie and Zandra.  

It was Christine's first walk with us - we may not see much of her as she likes longer walks but she's going to persuade a friend to come.

Michael was leading and started towards the Stone Bridge.

We walked along the river and as we got to the Wooden Bridge Suzie and the short walkers left us to go up Cardiac Hill and the Viewing Area - green route and arrows.

We climbed up into Gravel Hole Wood, resting at the top to get our breathe back.  We walked on into Dog Kennel Wood and up into the Field.

We descended the steps to the Lake side and after another short rest

we came down the steps at the south west corner of the Lake and crossed the Stone Bridge again.

We climbed up to Walkers Wood and rested again before entering Cock Cabin Wood

Opening out on to the pond we saw the first Yellow Iris.

Herb Robert and Hart's Tongue Fern which appears to be a feature of the Cinder Path Walls.

Starting along James' Walk we found Red Campion and Ferns

Leaving James' Wood we crossed the tarmac and went between the Hall and Stables back to the Barn.

The Short Walkers had reversed the direction we had just come and walked down Sue Ryder Drive, into Cuerden Close and Berkeley Drive via the wood back to the Barn
