Health Walk - Thursday 9th February 2017

Today we had twenty-four walkers for another windy but dry day.
Helen was leading the main walk with Elizabeth M as back marker. Suzie was leading the Elite walk.

Helen led off into the Pinetum,

down Cardiac Hill and
across the Wooden Bridge turning right then left up into Gravel Hole Wood
Leaving Gravel Hole Wood they entered Dog Kennel Wood and dropped down to the Lake but turned up into the Field.
Helen led us on to Hawks Clough and walked up the Hill to the Ponderosa

which always causes interest.
We carried on along Cam Lane and dropped down into Green Wood, climbing up round the back of ASDA, along the top and back to Hawks Clough.
Helen led us along the edge of the Field and down to the Lake.

Michael had his monopod today but the images are still not sharp. Needs more practice.
Michael got left behind here but thinks they must have walked straight down the slope rather than walk across the Dam. We crossed the Stone Bridge and set off climbing Snake hill.

This one's hand held without the monopod. Perhaps there wasn't enough light on the Lake for the 300 mm lens.
Everyone got back to the Barn.
There were four Elite walkers today. They walked round the back of the Barn, through Sue Ryder car park along the Park side of the Hall, back up to the new building, into the Pinetum and down to the Wooden Bridge. They cross the bridge and walked along the valley to the Stone Bridge.
They crossed the Stone Bridge and walked up Snake Hill turning towards the Hall. They walked round the Hall and down Sue Ryder Drive turning into Cuerden Close.
They walked through the little wood and up Berkeley Drive back to the Barn.
The walks were enjoyed by all!
