Health Walk - Thursday 20th April 2017

Photos by Michael & Linda P - Please click on photos to see a larger one

Today we had thirty walkers.  It was a pleasant morning but the sun didn't break through.

Margaret W was leading the main walk, John W was back marker.

Suzie was leading the short walk option without a back marker, only four today.

Margaret warned us that we would be crossing roads and to be very careful.

She took us into the Pinetum and down Cardiac Hill to the Wooden Bridge.  We crossed the Wooden Bridge and walked up into Gravel Hole Wood

Linda captured some of the many Bluebells which are widespread but not dense - perhaps David B will take us into some spectacular places on Saturday

Here Linda snapped Michael, to use Linda's words "a rare sighting on camera of the Lesser Spotted Michael Swarbrick", she doesn't realise how true her description is.

We walked up to Cam Lane past the Ponderosa

We crossed the Stone Bridge and walked up Snake Hill back to the Barn passing the new building.

Sue designed a route for the Short Option Walkers without too many hills to satisfy the needs of the four walkers.

They turned left out of the Barn and walked past the former Sue Ryder cafe across the car park into James Walk among the bluebells.  They came off the walk and crossed Sue Ryder's Drive into Cuerden Close, through the wood back to Berkeley Drive and entered the Pinetum.  They walked up to the Viewing Area, down the steps, crossing to walk up the side of the Pinetum past the new building.  From there they walked along the south side of the Hall and back to the Barn.
