Health Walk - Tuesday 11th July 2017

Only twenty-three walkers this morning, six opted for the short walk

Lawrence was leading the main walk with Michael S back marking.   Suzi was leading the Optional Short Walk Group without a back marker.

Lawrence outlines his plans and started out for the Pinetum along the short path avoiding the road.  In the Pinetum he led us up to the Viewing Area and then down Cardiac Hill over the Wooden Bridge.

Suzi led off around the sunny (well today it was pouring down) side of the Hall and joined the main path down Snake Hill towards the Stone Bridge.

Lawrence took us into Gravel Hole Wood, Dog Kennel Wood, through the Kissing Gate into the Field and on to Hawks Clough.  From Hawkes Clough he

led us past the Ponderosa and after the usual ponderings as to what was happening on the site we carried on down Cam Lane to cross into Sheep Hill Lane.

passing the Covert Pond - will it have to be cleaned out?

As we neared the Wooden Bridge again Lawrence paused and decided that because of the pouring rain we'd abandon his plan to walk back up Snake Hill and he crossed the Wooden Bridge leading us back up Cardiac Hill and through the Pinetum back to the Barn

The back marker, trailing as usual, observed this strange wagon laden with logs entering the car park.  Firewood.

At the Stone Bridge Suzi took her group to the right and along the river to Wooden Bridge where they walked up Cardiac Hill, into the Pinetum, up the steps along the viewing area and out of the Pinetum down Berkeley Drive rounding the Barn and then back up the passage past Sue Ryder's cafe before rounding the Hall and walking back to the Barn.
