Health Walk - Tuesday 10th October 2017

Today we had thirty-four walkers, including five Anns, and some sunshine which again highlighted the autumn colours now appearing everywhere 

Carmel was leading the main walk with James Mc back marking.  Susan led the Elite group into the Pinetum with Peter back marking.

and she led us off along the path through the trees, through the car park, past the new building and down Snake Hill.

She turned left before the Stone Bridge and led us up Bikers Hill into Walkers Wood.  From Walkers Wood we entered Cock Cabin Wood, walking anti-clockwise round the wood, passing the Pond and coming out on to the Cycle Track again and heading back the way we had come.

As we were going back down into Walkers Wood we met the Elite walkers coming up Bikers Hill.  They had walked down into the Pinetum, down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge, along the river crossing the Stone Bridge to walk up Bikers Hill.

We entered Walkers Wood to come out on Bikers Hill and walked towards the Stone Bridge,

crossing the Bridge, after regrouping and looking for activity in the water, we rounded the Picnic Area, walked along the bottom of the Dam and climbed up the Long Steps to the Lake

Around the Lake and up the even longer steps into the Field - the same photo tampered with

Then Carmel led us down through the Kissing Gate and up into Dog Kennel Wood, through Gravel Hole Wood, over the Wooden Bridge

with the sad looking new building on our right.  Latest information is that the Cafe will open next March although they are hoping to move into the building early in the new year.

The Elite walkers also went round Cock Cabin Wood but in the opposite direction, returned down Bikers Hill and walked up Snake Hill back to the Barn
