Meanwhile the Elite walkers set off in the opposite direction into the Pinetum

The main group walked round the Hall and headed down Sue Ryder's Drive to the Cinder Path

Leaving the Cinder Path we walked into Cock Cabin Wood, round the Pond, out of the wood into Walkers Wood and across the Stone Bridge.

We walked round the Picnic area, along the bottom of the Dam and up the Long Steps to the Lake

Continuing round the Lake Amanda caught this lovely photo of a Black Headed Gull in its winter plumage.

We went through the Kissing gate and climbed the steps up into the Field onto Cam Lane and dropped down again to the other Kissing Gate.

Activity outside the new building!

The short option walkers, the 'Elite' group walked up to the Viewing Area, down the steps and up to the new building and leaving Snake Hill to walk along to the Hall walking along the sunny side before going between the buildings and then down Sue Ryders Drive to Shady Lane.

Walking along Shady Lane they turned up into Cuerden Close walking straight up to the path which brought them out on the lane alongside Sue Ryder's Barn.  they crossed in front of the Hall walking back to Snake Hill and past the new building before descending again into the Pinetum and eventually returning to the Barn ahead of the main group.
