Today we had twenty-four walkers.

Cheryl led the main walk with Sheila T back marking mentored by Michael S.

Suzi led the short option walk, with Colin C back marking

Cheryl introduced her walk and explained there was a short cut if necessary

We set off down Snake Hill

It was a lovely sunny morning again but was that a spot of rain?

Oh dear the cows are lying down!

However the clouds melted away as we crossed the Stone Bridge and walked up the Slope and through the Kissing Gate into the Field.  We carried on walking along Cam Lane towards Hawks Clough, through the next Kissing Gate

down over the footbridge into Green Wood.

After a while Cheryl took us up some long steps into the new houses and brought us out on to the A6.  We walked along and crossed the road safely at the crossing into the walk on the other side.  Dodging here and there amongst the quiet houses we crossed

Where's my mentor/

We got back into Green Wood and retraced our steps but dropping down to the Lake and walked round it to the Long Steps. descended and walked round the Picnic Area to cross the Stone Bridge again and climb up Snake Hill by now we knew we'd been on a longer walk than usual but everyone was happy and said they'd thoroughly enjoyed the walk.  3.5 mile in 72 minutes.

Thanks Cheryl

Suzi took the Elite walkers Through the Car Park, past the Old Man into the Pinetum along path past the viewing Area and down Cardiac Hill.

They crossed the Wooden Bridge and climbed up into Gravel Hole Wood passing over the Clayton-Le-Woods WI Bridge into Dog Kennel Wood, emerging to walk round the Lake, down the Long Steps, crossed the Picnic Area, over the Stone Bridge and walked up Snake Hill back to the Visitors centre.
