Health Walk - Tuesday 29th May 2018

Today we had fifty walkers with three new ones

It was a lovely morning again

Irene S led the main walk with Lawrence mentoring and Sheila T back marking with Michael S mentoring.   Colin C led the short option walk perhaps with John B back marking.

Irene introduced herself and set off down Snake Hill to turn off and walk round the front of Cuerden Hall and along James' Walk

emerging from Wilbraham's Wood where we ran into the short option walkers who once again gave way to us but had to wait at the gate along the Cinder Path as our large number were taking time to get through the Kissing Gate

We walked along route 55 to Cock Cabin Wood, walked round the Pond

As we set off the short option walkers caught up with us again.

We left the wood to enter Walkers Wood coming back on to Route 55 and crossing the Stone Bridge and walking up to the Lake where

We left the Lake to go through the Kissing Gate to the Field and after climbing up to the steps we came down to the Lake and

watched the Heron chicks on the Island.

Irene took us up into Dog Kennel Wood, through into Gravel Hole Wood, back down to Route 55, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre by the shortest route.

The Elite walkers set off through the Car Park, round the Barn and down Sue ryder's Drive where they met us and followed us, missing out Walkers Wood, down to the Stone Bridge where they left us to walk along the river, route 55, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill, round by the Walled Orchard and back to the Visitors Centre
