Health Walk - Thursday 7th June 2018

Today we had twenty-three walkers.

James led the main walk with Michael S back marking.  

Suzi led the short option walk, with Colin C back marking

set off through the Car Park

He led us down Berkley Drive into Shady Lane.

We left Shady Lane and crossed down the field to Town Brow.  We crossed Town Brow and entered the south side of the Park.

We walked to the first turning and taking it going up the hill and eventually came to Michael G's Duck Ponds.

At the first pond we were delighted to see

Now the second pond where the Dragonflies and Damselflies created the interest

We carried on coming out at the Ley Inn, our New Year's Day Lunch venue.  Down Back Lane and into the Park again along the Avenue of Oaks planted for one of the Queen Mother's Birthdays.  James took us off the track and along the river coming out at the Covert Pond and walking on to go over the Wooden Bridge

where the Visitors Centre came into view with the Balcony full of diners.  Pressing on up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum, turning immediately right up to the Visitors Centre

Suzi led the Elite walkers down Snake Hill, up the Slope to the Lake for a look at the Herons before climbing up into the Field to drop down to the Kissing Gate and up into Dog Kennel Wood.  On into Gravel Hole Wood and preceding the main group over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
