Today we had twenty-eight walkers including a child.  It was a lovely morning with lots of sunshine.

Frankie led the main walk with Cheryl back-marking.

Suzi led the Elite walk with Colin C back marking.

Frankie took us up through the Car Park and into the Pinetum then

Someone spotted the Herons across the water in the trees, forgive me I've forgotten who was the first to see them, the ones at the front missed them

On the Dam we came across this safety notice.

Descending the Long Steps down to the Picnic Area we walked round and

across the Stone Bridge.  After a short rest Frankie took us up into Walkers Wood then Cock Cabin Wood and along the Cycle Track to the Cinder Path.

Leaving the Cinder Path Frankie took us along James' Walk, the Bluebell Walk in spring.

We came out in front of Cuerden Hall, walked round the side and back to the Visitors Centre

The Elite walkers started down Snake Hill, crossed the Stone Bridge and walked along the river.  After an unsuccessful attempt to walk round the river they continued along the Cycle Track, past the Covert Pond and turned into the wood towards the Stepping Stones.  Suzi attempted to walk across the stones but decided against it however Emma was delighted and she crossed the stones back and forth three times accompanied by Mum, Cathy.  Emma was so delighted she said we must bring Gran.

They walked back along the river, again Emma was thrilled to be climbing over and under the fallen trees.

Back on the Cycle Track they crossed the Wooden Bridge and walked up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
