Health Walk - Tuesday 21st August 2018

Today we had thirty-seven walkers today.
It was an overcast morning, rather humid but brightening up all the time
James led the main walk with Maggie back marker. Suzi led the short option walk with Colin back marker.
James introduced himself and back marker Maggie with his usual spark of humour. He set off through the Car Park heading for Shady Lane to take advantage of the conditions for his plans later in the walk

Here you can see James in the water making sure everyone got across safely. I was on hand at the other side to help anyone who couldn't get up the bank, the new steps should be in place by October

We left the river and James took us up into Gravel Hole Wood, Dog Kennel Wood, round the Reservoir and down the Long steps to the Picnic Area, over the Stone Bridge, up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre
The Elite group started off behind us but once through the Car Park they took the path to the sunny side of Cuerden Hall round the front and down the Drive to the Cinder Path. Leaving the Cinder Path they walked along the Cycle Track, into Cock Cabin Wood, down Bikers Hill Across the Stone Bridge, along the river, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
