Health Walk - Tuesday 28th August 2018

Today we had thirty-eight walkers.

It was a warm dry morning and the sun tried to shine

Carmel led the main walk with Sheila back marker.   Maggie led the short option (Elite) walk with Colin back marker.

Carmel set the stage and led off through the Car Park

Carmel turned into the Pinetum but Maggie carried on turning to walk along the sunny side of Cuerden Hall

She took us up into Gravel Hole Wood, through to Dog Kennel Wood emerging to go through the Kissing Gate into the Field along to Hawks Clough.

We entered Green Wood and walking clockwise climbed up to the top and round the back of ASDA

Here we are climbing up the long steps out of the wood onto Cam Lane turning right to pass the Ponderosa on our way back to Hawks Clough.  Walking along the Field back through the Kissing Gate and down the slope to the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre

The Elite group having taken the path to the sunny side of Cuerden Hall walked round the front and down the Drive to the Cinder Path.  Leaving the Cinder Path they walked along the Cycle Track, into Cock Cabin Wood, down Bikers Hill Across the Stone Bridge, along the river, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum and back to the Visitors Centre
