Health Walk - Thursday 13th September 2018

Today we had twenty-five walkers. A good turnout considering the forecast however we had a pleasant dry morning
Rabia led the main walk with Elizabeth M back marking.
Suzi led the Elite walk with john B back marking.
Rabia admitted that she didn't know the Park very well but was hoping to gain experience and prove she was capable of leading a walk.
Following a route suggested by Michael S, a development of the short option walk Rabia led last Thursday, she entered the Pinetum and led us down Cardiac Hill, over the Wooden Bridge and up into Gravel Hole Wood, Dog Kennel Wood, leaving the trees to go through the Kissing Gate

up into the Cow Field and down the steps to the Lake. (The white paper in Rabia's hand is the route directions she had prepared yesterday)
Walking round the Lake, down the Long Steps and round the Picnic Area over the Stone Bridge to pick up the route she had done last Thursday.
Up Bikers Hill into Walkers Wood.
Leaving Walkers Wood Rabia took us into Cock Cabin Wood coming back out on to the Cycle Track making for the Cinder Path
We came out of the Cinder Path on

to the Drive and walked round Cuerden Hall back to the Visitors Centre.
The Elite walkers set off down Snake Hill, walked up Bikers Hill to Cock Cabin Wood, the only time the two walks concurred, leaving Cock Cabin Wood Suzi led them back down Bikers Hill, across the Stone Bridge, along the river, over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill into the Pinetum a little way then up one of the paths back to the Visitors Centre
