Health Walk - Thursday 20th December 2018

Photos by Michael S - Please click on photos to see a larger one!

Today we had twenty-three walkers and Paddy for a strangely good autumn morning, a change from the overnight rain and the rain expected however it was to change.

Michael S was the leader of the main walk with Sheila T back marker, again.

Colin C led the Elite group with Margaret W back marker.

Michael announced the Christmas Day and Boxing Day walks and set off down Snake Hill running (Ha Ha) ahead

Turning left he led the main group into Walkers Wood and out into Cock Cabin Wood. Walking round anticlockwise he took the group passed the Woodpecker Tree, out and down Bikers Hill.

Avoiding the puddle on the path to the Stone Bridge he led over the Stone Bridge, round the Picnic Area along the bottom of the Dam and up the Long Steps to the Lake.

There was much activity on the Lake with a couple of Cormorants performing aerial manoeuvres and some white looking ducks towards the north-east corner - goosanders?

the Elite walkers came into view on the opposite side.  Having started into the Pinetum, down Cardiac Hill, up into Gravel Hole Wood they were emerging from Dog Kennel Wood to go through the Kissing Gate into the Field

Now the rain started and I was glad of my umbrella!
