Sheila:     "A miserable start to a day which developed into a very pleasant sunny morning for our group of 26 on the walk led by Carmel and back marked by John W.  The shorter option group of 8 was led by Maggie and back marked by Margaret.  We had three new people join us today one with a little baby girl only 3 months old. "

Carmel took the main group up through the Car Park and into the Pinetum, down Cardiac Hill over the Wooden Bridge turning right and shortly climbing up into Gravel Hole Wood where we paused for a breather.

On into Dog Kennel Wood and through the Kissing Gate into the Field

As we came towards the end of the Dog Kennel Wood path we could hear an horrendous noise.  It was the Electricity North West team clearing the branches round their electrical wires, the ones that ruin so many photos.

Continuing back along Cam Lane and down the steps to the Lake, round the Lake, down the Long Steps, round the Picnic Area, over the Stone Bridge and up Snake Hill back to the Visitors Centre.

The Elite group followed us all the way to come out of Dog Kennel Wood, where they left our path and walked round the Lake, over the Stone Bridge, now ahead of the main group, up into Walkers Wood, through Cock Cabin Wood, round the Pond, back out on to the Cycle Path, Cinder Path, Hall Drive, round the front of the Hall back to the Visitors Centre.  The Long walkers were first back again!

Today's walks (Red Main Group, Green Short Walk Option Group).
Where there are green arrows on the red route it means the Elite walkers had followed the main >> or the main group had followed the Elite walkers >>.  similarly for the blue arrows
