Walk - Tuesday 21st April

Photos by Michael S - Please click on photos to see a larger one

All Health Walks have been cancelled but Jimmy and Michael turned up to walk, this time in the car as the combined cycling and walking left Michael useless for the rest of the day

John B and Beth were also in the Car Park and they set off down Snake Hill

We set off down Snake Hill and soon caught them up giving them a wide berth with their help.

Across the Picnic Area and up the Long Steps to the Lake

My favourite flower, the Mayflower - controversial name, David B is adamant it is the Cuckoo Flower, incidentally David heard a Cuckoo in the Park last week - reason for the name, it blooms when you can hear the Cuckoo

and down to the south west.

Up into Gravel Hole Wood, through into Dog Kennel Wood, down the Slope, over the Stone Bridge, up Bikers Hill into Cock Cabin Wood where there seems to have been wholesale destruction of trees.

Back down Bikers Hill, over the Stone Bridge again and

I saw a kingfisher once here on a organized walk.

Over the Wooden Bridge, up Cardiac Hill and across the Pinetum back to the Car Park

Beth on Facebook: "We saw Michael & Jim setting off, in fact they overtook us.  We wandered down the hill & up the ramp to the reservoir where we watched the wildfowl & the ducks being fed, then went up the steps to the pasture back to the gate round the bottom edge of the reservoir down the steps to the riverside, we had intended to go up through the woods, but my knees hurt so just back up the hill to the car. It was good but short."
